Mr. Mermer is a seasoned litigator, accomplished trial lawyer with over 29+ years of experience, and in the General Practice of law. He is regularly consulted not only by clients, but because of his experience and officially reported winning cases, by other lawyers throughout the State of Florida working on complex DUI and traffic matters.

Lyons and Gates, an International
Law Firm and was in charge of document control for the United
States/Chrysler loan closing, one of the largest financial
transactions in history. He was then hired as a litigation
associate for Attorney
George David Rosenbaum across from
City Hall, the New York County & Federal Courts handling a
large volume of criminal, personal injury, divorce and estate
cases. While at the firm, In 1986, Mermer became Counsel to the Southwestern Bell Corporation and several of their subsidiary company's where he lectured to the firm's legal department and staff in New York and across the Mid-West on the subject of contract law, trial preparation and trial techniques. As their attorney of record, he handled hundreds of litigated cases in New York and supervised outside attorneys on literally thousands of commercial cases across the Mid-West.
In 1988, he was nominated and received the prestigious Outstanding Young Men of America Award. During the 1980's Mr. Mermer regularly appeared on network television as a legal commentator on the Morton Downey Jr. Show and on CNBC on the topic of DWI/DUI. Mr. Mermer was also legal advisor to the New York Business Forum TV Show. Mr. Mermer has authored articles on legal issues affecting businesses, won an appeal in what has become one of the "Most Cited Cases" on Municipal Liability & Damages. He has lived in Florida since 1990 and opened a Law Practice in Boca Raton. Mr. Mermer also has a business interest, founding one of the first online stock and commodities trading company's and Counsel to the company. Mermer is also a Registered Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) under 7 U.S.C. § 1, et seq. and is very well known in the financial industry. He has written numerous feature articles in national financial publications on techniques and strategies for successful investing.
Mr. Mermer frequently authors a column "Ask The Lawyer" Our Town News. For the last few years, Mr. Mermer has instructed lawyers on the use of the Intoxilizer 5000 Alcohol Breath Testing machine and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing procedures at the Broward and West Palm Beach Offices of the Public Defender. Mr. Mermer was associated with the law firm of Fleming K. Whited, III, of Daytona Beach, Florida, famed DUI Defense lawyer as local counsel in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Due to Mr. Mermer's experience in the field of Traffic Criminal matters and DUI defense, he was asked to join the public defender's office where he was a trial attorney in the Felony Division. After leaving the public defender's office, he was appointed a Special Public Defender in Broward County to handle certain indigent criminal cases while maintaining his private practice. Mr. Mermer recently won and several precedent-setting cases published in Florida Law Weekly Supplement on search and seizure issues in Broward county and was also a candidate for Broward County Court Judge in 2006. Mr. Mermer has been consulted and participated in scores of DUI Jury trials in South, Central and Northern Florida.
As an advocate and trial lawyer for the past 25+ years, he has handled thousands of cases and been lead counsel in hundreds of judge and jury trials. Mermer, guided by the principle of fundamental fairness for all, has a proven record dedicated to defending the constitutional rights of individuals in the community and will provide skilled legal counsel for clients on all matters accepted for representation by him. In most of the criminal cases he has handled, he has either won, charges against his clients have been dismissed, reduced or the client did not receive a conviction*.
